Terms of Service

1Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and StorifyMe ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the StorifyMe mobile application and website (collectively the "Service").

By downloading, installing or using the app, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2Eligibility & Age Requirements

Minimum age to create an account

You must be at least 13 years old to create a StorifyMe account. Users between 13 and 17 must have parental or guardian consent before creating an account.

Child profiles

Children under 13 may not create their own accounts. Parents and guardians may create child profiles within their own account on behalf of children of any age. By creating a child profile, the parent or guardian confirms they are the legal parent or guardian of that child and consents on the child's behalf to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

Adult profiles

Adult profiles (Rated R content, PIN-protected) are available only to users who are 18 or older. By accessing an adult profile you confirm you meet this age requirement. We rely on PIN protection and parental responsibility to enforce this — it is the parent's responsibility to keep their PIN confidential.

3Your Account

StorifyMe uses Google Sign-In for authentication. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your Google account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account, including activity on child profiles
• Keeping your parental PIN confidential and not sharing it with children
• Notifying us promptly at StorifyMeTeam@storifyme.com if you suspect unauthorised access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4The Service

StorifyMe provides AI-powered story generation using Google's Gemini API. The Service allows you to:

• Create family profiles with age-appropriate content settings
• Generate personalised stories using AI
• Save stories to a personal vault
• Read stories aloud using text-to-speech
• Contribute to and discover stories from the global community pool ("Surprise Me")
• Export stories as PDF documents

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid subscribers.

5Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate stories that contain, promote or glorify violence, hatred, racism, discrimination, or illegal activity
• Generate sexual or explicit content involving minors in any way — this is a zero-tolerance policy and will result in immediate permanent ban and referral to relevant authorities
• Circumvent age-gate controls (e.g. entering a false age to access adult content for children)
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent (e.g. reselling AI-generated stories, scraping, automated bulk generation)
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the app's source code, prompt templates, or API integrations
• Use automated bots or scripts to generate stories at scale
• Upload malicious content, attempt to disrupt the service, or conduct security attacks
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
• Harvest or scrape other users' shared stories from the global pool

6Content & Intellectual Property

Stories you generate

The story text generated by AI in response to your prompts is yours. StorifyMe grants you a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use, share, print and distribute stories generated through your account for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Inputs you provide

You retain ownership of any text you provide as inputs (hero names, traits, magic words, settings). By submitting inputs to the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process those inputs through the Gemini API for the sole purpose of generating your story.

Our content

The StorifyMe name, logo, app design, prompt templates, and all original content created by us are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced, copied or used without our written permission.

Third-party IP in prompts

Do not use StorifyMe to generate stories that infringe third-party intellectual property rights — for example, generating stories that reproduce substantial portions of copyrighted books, or stories that are clearly derived from another author's protected characters or settings. Responsibility for any such infringement lies with the user.

7Global Story Pool ("Surprise Me")

If you opt in to the Global Story Pool, you grant StorifyMe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display your contributed stories to other users of the app, in their age-appropriate context, as part of the Surprise Me feature.

By contributing a story you confirm that:

• The story was generated through normal use of the Service
• The story does not contain personal information about real individuals
• You have the right to share it under these Terms

We reserve the right to remove any contributed story that violates these Terms, our content policies, or that we determine is unsuitable for the community library for any reason.

You can withdraw your stories from the global pool at any time via Settings → Privacy → Global Story Sharing. Removal is processed within 72 hours.

8Free Tier & Advertising

Free tier

StorifyMe is currently free to use. The free tier includes:

• Up to 5 stories per day per account
• Up to 6 family profiles
• All 18 supported languages
• Story Vault, text-to-speech narration, and sharing

We reserve the right to introduce paid tiers in the future. Any change to the free tier limits will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice via in-app notification and on this page before taking effect.

Advertising

The free tier displays ads provided by Google AdMob. Ads help us keep StorifyMe free for families. By using StorifyMe you agree to receive ads consistent with your consent preferences. You can review or update your ad preferences at any time via Settings → Ad Preferences.

• Ads are shown before story generation (interstitial format)
• EU/UK users are shown a consent form (GDPR) before personalised ads are served
• Child profiles (under 13) are served non-personalised ads only, with child-directed treatment applied in compliance with COPPA
• No ad tracking data is collected by StorifyMe directly — ad serving is handled entirely by Google AdMob

9Refund Policy

Refund requests for subscriptions are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play in accordance with their respective refund policies. StorifyMe does not process refunds directly — please contact the relevant store.

• Google Play: Request a refund from Google

In cases of technical issues or service failures that prevent access to paid features for an extended period (more than 72 hours), contact us at StorifyMeTeam@storifyme.com and we will evaluate your case and may apply a credit or extension at our discretion.

10Termination

Termination by you

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete My Account. This immediately and permanently deletes all your data. There is no recovery after this action.

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if we determine you have:

• Violated any provision of these Terms, especially the Acceptable Use Policy
• Engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour
• Created a risk or legal liability for StorifyMe or other users

For less severe violations, we will typically issue a warning first. Zero-tolerance violations (Section 5) result in immediate termination without warning.

Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6 (IP), 11 (Disclaimers), 12 (Liability), and 13 (Indemnification) survive termination.

11Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness or suitability of AI-generated story content
• Warranties regarding the availability of third-party services (Google Gemini, Firebase, AdMob)

AI-generated stories are creative works of fiction. Any resemblance to real persons, events or places is coincidental. Stories should not be used for educational fact-checking or professional advice.

12Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STORIFYME AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING:

• Loss of data, profits, goodwill or other intangible losses
• Damages from AI-generated story content
• Damages from unauthorised access to your account
• Damages from third-party service outages (Gemini, Firebase)

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO STORIFYME IN THE 3 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) £10.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless StorifyMe and its affiliates, officers, employees and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
• Content you submit to the Service (prompts, story pool contributions)
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation

14Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at StorifyMeTeam@storifyme.com so we can attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

15Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of changes that materially affect your rights.

Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
